Do you always charge a flat rate for shipping? | For the majority of our orders, a flat rate box will be the best deal for shipping. There are times that we will need a larger box and hence a larger shipping cost. And again, a small order of a bar or two can be cheaper...if you have already placed your order you will be refunded the difference or please contact us and we can invoice you the actual shipping. We always want to get the best shipping rate for our customers! | ||
Do you accept payment other than Paypal? | Of course! For our local customers we accept cash, checks and we are also big believers in bartering. For those that are not local, we also accept money orders and checks, though they must clear before your order is shipped and you will be notified the day your order ships. | ||
Do you provide samples of your products or scents? | Yes! If you are not local we do charge shipping though, and there is a limit of 3 samples of products and 10 samples of scents per order. Please contact us if you are interested in taking advantage of this. | ||
What are some good ways to save money on your products? | We do our best to keep our items affordable because we believe everyone deserves to enjoy natural body and home care. We offer a recycling program, where you can receive a credit for returning your lip balm and lotion containers. Conversely, this recycled packaging can save you money as well. We offer products that utilize recycled (yet sanitized) packaging at a discount. Please contact us for availability of this option. | ||
I purchased a bar that I don't find listed on your site and would like some more, can you make more? Or can you make a bar that smells like this? | Of course! Usually I will let a batch run out if it wasn't a particularly good seller, was a seasonal type scent or I needed room for some new batches. I can always make something that you've purchased and enjoyed in the past. I love special orders and will not charge extra for the request. If I have to make a whole batch to fulfill your request and you only buy one bar, you pay regular price for that one bar. Homestead Soap is a cottage business and I am very proud of that. I keep things small, and fresh so that I can tailor items to my customer's requests and needs. I think that's what it's all about, and I enjoy whipping up special batches and items. If I haven't come up with something you're looking for just means I haven't gotten to it yet, so put your request in and get that moved to the top of my "to-do" list. Also, my fragrance oil supplier specializes in dupes for scents from such companees such as Yankee, Bath and Body, Victoria Secret, etc. If you're looking for a scent you know you already like and would like it in a natural product just ask! I also have access to just about any essential oil or beneficial additive you could want in your item. | ||
What fragrances and essential oils do you carry? | This makes for quite an extensive list, but feel free to peruse. I will do my best to keep this updated. Of course if you're looking for something specific that isn't listed I can most likely obtain it. Note: Essential oils are all natural. Fragrance oils are manmade---they are the only manmade ingredient I ever use in my products. Flavour oils are manmade as well but are safe in edible products such as lip balms and massage oils.
